Marist School Selects Deluxe Athletics to Build Synthetic Turf Field on Campus

Atlanta, Georgia – June 29, 2009 –Marist School selected the Atlanta area’s leading synthetic turf construction company, Deluxe Athletics, to work with school officials on the planning, construction and design of a state of the art synthetic turf field at historic Hughes Spalding Stadium.
Marist School’s athletic programs have received national recognition for excellence on and off the field. Support that begins with the administration and faculty along with the commitment of the coaches, a dedicated Booster Cub, supportive parents and the strong work ethic exhibited by the student athletes are factors that have made this possible. With over 82% of the Marist students participating in various athletic programs, the Marist Community works together to provide the best equipment and training facilities for student athletes to practice and play in an environment suited to build strong, competitive teams. |
| The project, in coordination with the Marist Board of Trustees and Administration, is under the leadership of Tommy Marshall, Director of Athletics. Tommy has been studying and following the trends of the industry for years to make sure that the proper company and surface was to be utilized at Marist. “For over five years now, we have had the opportunity to play on many different fields in the Atlanta area. When it came down to making a final decision, we not only studied the different fibers and infills available, but also the capabilities of the different companies. Looking at the new field as not only a surface for our athletic programs, but a long standing relationship with the company that would be installing it, we came to the unanimous decision that Deluxe Athletics was the best option for the school.” |

The project is under construction and is slated for completion in the beginning of August. |
